What is Anthony Davis’ injury?
Davis suffered an abdominal muscle strain in the first quarter of the Lakers’ game against the Sixers on Jan. 28, 2025. He left that game and did not return, playing 10 minutes in the contest.
An abdominal strain can be tricky, and Davis’ absence depends on the severity of the injury. He could return fairly soon if it’s a mild case, but a more severe case would have a longer recovery time.

Davis was playing in the second game of a back-to-back when he suffered the injury, having played over 36 minutes against the Hornets the night before.
How long is Anthony Davis out?
It is unclear exactly when Davis will return.
The Lakers announced on Jan. 29 that the medical staff would re-evaluate Davis in one week, but didn’t give much more information.
