Arch Manning’s Brother Reveals Unexpected Reality About Going to Texas

Texas fans have gotten an inside look at the Manning family recently.

Last week, Texas quarterback Arch Manning spoke with the ESPN’s Marty Smith for an extended period of time about a variety of topics on and off the field. Manning wasn’t available to the media often when he served as the backup behind Quinn Ewers so it gave Longhorns fans a refreshing glimpse into his life.

Another rarity occurred on Friday afternoon. Manning’s younger brother, Heid, a freshman at Texas, spoke with the media on his relationship with Arch while attending the same school.

While Heid did note that he is “living the good life now” while attending the same college as his older brother, they may not be as intertwined as you would think. “Arch and I are living completely different lives,” Heid told Horns247.

“We do have a lot of crossovers though. He is great friends with a bunch of my [fraternity] buddies across all grades, and I’ve become great friends with his teammates, and I think having that crossover is important for [Arch], especially [to have an outlet from football]. We spend a lot of time together. We get lunch a lot and get dinners throughout the week.”

While Arch is the most popular person on campus right now, Heid reminded fans that he’s just a normal guy off the field. “When I meet new people, they get all excited and ask me about him like he’s some sort of superhero. But to me, he’s just the same guy who still doesn’t know how to work a microwave,” Heid joked.

It’s clear that the two brothers balance each other’s schedules and maintain their close relationship, but their conversations rarely include football. “Surprising as it sounds, we rarely, if ever, talk about football. He has enough people talking to him about football and stuff, so when we’re together, we’re usually just chopping it up about everything else.”
