Jaxson Dart Predicted to Join Recent Draft Bust QB on NFL’s Worst Team

Jaxson Dart was one of the hottest names in NFL draft circles after his performance at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama earlier this month. In fact, many thought he could be a first-round pick despite being considered a middle-round prospect all season at Ole Miss.

However, it seems that Dart’s stock has cooled off as of late, with experts now believing that he will be chosen sometime on Day 2. The Athletic’s recent mock draft predicts that Dart will be selected in the second round by the Tennessee Titans and will be paired with third-year quarterback Will Levis, who the team drafted in the second round just two years ago.

Levis has been a disaster in his two years as the Titans’ quarterback. In the 21 games he has started, Levis has a record of 5-16 and has scored only 22 touchdowns compared to his 23 turnovers. While Dart is seen as a bit of a project for NFL teams, he has all the physical tools to be an effective signal-caller at the next level.

“The questions about whether or not anything from Lane Kiffin’s passing offense can translate to an NFL system will follow Dart until he proves he’s not Matt Corral,” wrote Nick Baumgardner of The Athletic. “But Dart (6-2, 225) has solid size with an accurate arm, quick release and great football IQ/character. There’s enough here to bet on, especially in this class — and Tennessee wouldn’t have to do it at No. 1.”

Dart and Levis would likely be in a quarterback competition to begin the year if the Titans go down this road. However, it seems more likely that the Titans would get rid of Levis if they like one of the college quarterback prospects and pair them with more of a strong veteran presence.
