Ole Miss Receives Promising QB Recruiting News
When a legendary quarterback like Jaxson Dart moves on from your program, it can often leave the team in dire straits. Fortunately for Lane Kiffin and his staff, they have done an excellent job recruiting in recent years and they have already picked the heir to Dart’s throne.
Austin Simmons should be the Ole Miss starting quarterback for the next few seasons and much is expected of the lefty signal-caller. But it is never too early to build for the future, and Kiffin is already making moves on several quarterbacks in the 2026 high school recruiting class.
Not only did Kiffin land an official visit with 4-star Landon Duckworth, but the Rebels are in the top seven for another 4-star quarterback in Kane Archer. Both are highly-touted high school recruits and Ole Miss has a shot for at least one of them.
Duckworth has been a high priority for the Rebels on the recruiting trail for some time now. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound quarterback from Jackson, Alabama is considered the fifth-best quarterback in the country by 247Sports. South Carolina is the current favorite to land his talents but it is still early in the recruiting process.
Archer is a Greenwood, Arkansas native who just trimmed his list to seven schools. He is a 6-foot-1, 205-pound quarterback ranked No. 10 nationally at his position. Of the seven schools in consideration, Ole Miss has the strongest football program so Archer should be heavily interested in becoming a Rebel.
