Georgia Bulldogs football names new scouting director
The Georgia Bulldogs are making moves to better their football program.
On Tuesday, the Bulldogs named James Ellis as Director of Scouting, according to Dawgs Central’s Graham Coffey.
Ellis, a Georgia graduate and native, worked in various roles in the Bulldogs’ player development department for six years before taking on his new role.
Despite his promotion to Director of Scouting, Ellis’ day-to-day responsibilities are expected to look the same. Ellis will oversee day-to-day recruiting operations, talent identification at both high school and college levels, recruiting travel plans, and camp evaluations.
Ellis isn’t the only front office move that Georgia recently made, and likely won’t be the last as they prepare for the 2025 college football season.
Earlier in the week, Georgia named Tanner Potts as the new CEO of the Classic City Collective. Potts previously worked as Georgia’s Assistant Atheltic Director/NIL and Strategic Initiatives.
Georgia also promoted Steve Drummond from Vice President and Chief Communications Officer at Georgia to Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Marketing Officer. Drummond will be responsible for developing and NIL managing partnerships with brands and donors to create opportunities for student-athletes.
