Michigan Football Targets No. 1 Offensive Lineman in 2026 Class

If Sherrone Moore and his staff can make a strong impression during Cantwell’s visit, Michigan could position itself as a serious contender.

Fresh off landing Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 overall player in the 2025 class, Michigan is riding high on a recruiting hot streak. Now, the Wolverines are setting their sights on another top-ranked prospect—2026’s No. 1 offensive lineman, Jackson Cantwell.

At 6-foot-7, 300 pounds, Cantwell is a physical force in the trenches, and his recruitment has become a national battle. He’s narrowed his choices to Michigan, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Oregon, and his home-state school, Missouri. While SEC powerhouses may have an early edge, Michigan is firmly in the mix. According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Cantwell has scheduled key visits in mid-March, including stops at Michigan, Miami, and Ohio State—giving the Wolverines a critical opportunity to make their case.
