Former Wisconsin cornerback Max Lofy hangs up the cleats for good
Lofy was a member of the Badgers from 2020 to 2024. He joined Wisconsin in 2020 as a three-star recruit, but worked his way up to become the starting slot corner for the 2024 squad, before transferring to Rice for his final season of eligibility. It appears that during his physical an issue with his heart was detected, leading him to make the difficult decision to retire from football. Lofy finished his playing career with 28 total tackles and one interception.
Lofy was part of a huge band of cornerbacks and safeties to leave Wisconsin this winter for the transfer portal. After five seasons with the Badgers, including a few injury plagued seasons, Lofy landed with the Rice Owls, but ultimately didn’t play a down.
It’s a tough end to football for the Colorado native, but with a Sociology degree in hand, and strong work ethic, the future looks bright for Max Lofy.
