Five-Star College Football Prospect Schedules Visit with Auburn

The Auburn Tigers are making sure they cover all their bases regarding the 2026 recruiting class.

On Friday, Rivals’ Adam Gorney reported that five-star safety Jireh Edwards scheduled an unofficial visit with Auburn later this spring. Edwards plans to be on campus on April 5.

The safety is also planning to visit the Alabama Crimson Tide (Mar. 20), Texas A&M Aggies (Mar. 22), LSU Tigers (Mar. 27), and Oregon Ducks (April 18).

Edwards attends St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, where former Auburn target Zion Elee goes. Elee is a Maryland commit and five-star edge rusher who reaffirmed his pledge and canceled all recruiting visits.

Edwards is listed at 6-foot-2, 192 pounds. He is the No. 2 safety and player from Maryland, per Rivals.

He has 28 total offers on Rivals, including Arkansas, Boston College, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Michigan and others.

Auburn is already familiar with Edwards, as the Tigers have had him on campus for two unofficial visits. The prospect has an official visit with Auburn lined up for May 16.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has Maryland (22.5%) in the lead for Edwards, followed by Auburn (19.7%), Oregon (14.1%), Ohio State (9.4%) and Georgia (9.4%).

Auburn has yet to land a five-star prospect in the 2026 class. Edwards would join four-star edge rusher Hezekiah Harris, four-star receivers Devin Carter and Denairius Gray, four-star linebackers Shadarius Toodle and JaMichael Garrett and three-star safety Wayne Henry.

Auburn’s 2025 season starts on Aug. 30, with the Tigers taking on Baylor. No kickoff time for the contest has been announced yet.
