NFL Draft Analyst Lance Zierlein on Will Campbell

The LSU Tigers are set to take center stage once again during April’s NFL Draft. When Commissioner Goodell announces Will Campbell’s name, he will make history as the 53rd first-round pick from LSU to enter the NFL.

Similar to how the Commanders found their franchise quarterback last year, one fortunate team will aim to enhance their offensive line by picking Will Campbell. To gain insights into Will’s skills, I spoke with Lance Zierlein, a well-known personality from the Texas HOF Radio morning show and a respected draft expert. You can check out his mock drafts on NFL.com.

Craig: What’s your overall thoughts on Will Campbell?

Lance: He’s an interesting prospect. He has elements of high risk versus high reward to his game. He can clear out guys with forceful down blocks but he struggles to win laterally. He also has a tendency to lunge and miss against stunts and movement.

Craig: What do you like the most about Will’s game?

Lance: He plays determined and spirited. He’s aggressive. He just needs to learn to vary and mix up his pass set technique and operate with his optimal hand timing in order to truly thrive tackle, instead of being moved to a guard.

Craig: I personally liked the way he finished games and the fact you could count on him every Saturday.

Lance: Absolutely. He’s durable. He also finishes blocks with good aggression. I also like that he’s been tested throughout the years in the SEC by various NFL caliber pass rushers
