4-star LB announces commitment timeline, Georgia’s competition

Georgia football has been sitting at five commits in their 2026 recruiting class for quite some time now, but everyone knows it is just a matter of time until that number starts increasing.
Kirby Smart and his staff have been doing an excellent job the last month and a half at putting themselves in a great position with a lot of the best recruits throughout the country, but they have had to be very patient as they wait for their next commit. Thankfully the time when the most recruits announce their commitments is getting closer, so Georgia fans won’t have to wait much longer.
Four-star linebacker Nick Abrams is a top target for Georgia, and it appears he is high on UGA as well. This is a great sign because Abrams just announced when he will be committing later this summer.
4-star Nick Abrams to commit in July
According to Ryan O’Bleness, Abrams will be announcing his committment later in July on the 16th.
Abrams has announced his top 10 schools so far, and Georgia is in that group along with Alabama, Duke, Michigan State, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State, USC, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt. Abrams will reportedly visit all 10 schools this spring, which includes a stop in Athens.
Abrams is yet to share where he will take official visits to later this summer, but he likely will make that decision after he takes these spring visits to his 10 finalists. But Georgia has to feel good about their chances right now based simply on the schools they are up against. Yes there is some major competition, but they are some other programs that UGA should feel very confident going up against.
These 10 spring visits are going to happen fast for Abrams, so stay tuned as more concrete info about his recruitment will come out once these visits start occurring.
