Duke Makes Kobe Bryant-Themed Announcement Ahead of Women’s March Madness
The Duke Blue Devils women’s basketball team improved its record to 24-7 with a 61-48 ACC Tournament win over the Louisville Cardinals on Friday.
It was Duke’s fourth straight win and its 12th victory in its last 15 games. Oluchi Okananwa led the team with 12 points while Reigan Richardson (12), Ashlon Jackson (11), and Toby Fournier (10) all scored ind double digits.
Head coach Kara Lawson’s team is scheduled to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET with a trip to the league’s tournament championship on the line in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Recently, it was revealed that the Blue Devils players will be granted the chance to honor one of the most famous basketball stars ever with a new addition to the team’s uniforms.
The Kobe Bryant-themed news made the rounds on social media as the Blue Devils stars continued their path forward to a possible deep run in the upcoming 2025 NCAA Tournament.
“Postseason Kobes,” the Duke Blue Devils women’s basketball team wrote on X as it revealed the team’s latest sneakers from Nike.
Video of the new shoes honoring the Los Angeles Lakers legend Bryant, also known as ‘The Black Mamba,’ was retweeted by Lawson.
The winner of Saturday’s Duke-Notre Dame semifinal matchup is expected to face the winner of Saturday’s game between the No. 1-seeded North Carolina State Wolfpack and No. 5-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels.
