No Arkansas basketball players named to All-SEC coaches selections for second straight year
FAYETTEVILLE — For the second consecutive season, no Arkansas men’s basketball players were named to coaches’ All-SEC awards.
Oklahoma, Georgia and LSU were the other schools that did not have a player represented on any of the first, second or third teams. Georgia’s Asa Newell and Oklahoma’s Jeremiah Fears were named to the All-Freshman team.
Last season marked the first time since the 2002-03 season that no Razorbacks were selected and it was the second time it had happened since 1995-96.
It is the first time Arkansas has gone consecutive seasons without an all-conference honoree since 1991-92 and 1992-93 when the Razorbacks were in the Southwest Conference.
The Associated Press All-SEC selections will be released Tuesday. The AP honors 10 players on its All-SEC teams, whereas the coaches select 15.
