Despite the New York Knicks’ acquisition of Karl-Anthony Towns generating excitement around a potential championship run, former NBA star Paul Pierce remains unconvinced. Pierce made it clear that he doesn’t foresee the Knicks winning a championship during his lifetime.
This comes as a blow to Knicks fans who are eager to see their team return to glory after a championship drought stretching back to 1973. The Knicks are coming off a strong 50-32 season, finishing second in the Eastern Conference, and the addition of Towns to a lineup that could include Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby has many believing this could be their year.
Paul Pierce has the worst takes so NYK will probably win the title next season..

While the recent trade for Towns has sparked hope for a championship run, not all fans are convinced that a title is within immediate reach.

Julius Randle admitted to being touched by the outpouring of support from New York Knicks fans following his trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The three-team deal sent shockwaves through the league, landing Karl-Anthony Towns in New York in exchange for Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, Keita Bates-DiOp, and a future first-round draft pick.
Despite the move, Knicks fans made it clear they appreciated Randle’s time in New York. “People are telling me how much they love me being a Knick and how much the team needs me,” Randle shared in a recent interview.
“Telling me never to go anywhere. To be a Knick forever.”
