Rangers have reportedly held internal talks over a stunning potential move for Mohamed Salah, with the Liverpool star expected to leave Anfield on a free transfer this summer.
The Scottish giants are already preparing for a major transition, with captain James Tavernier set to depart after more than a decade at Ibrox. The 34-year-old right-back recently confirmed he will move on at the end of the season, bringing the curtain down on an era that saw him score 144 goals in 562 appearances while leading Rangers to domestic and European success, including the 2021 league title and a run to the 2022 Europa League final.
Defender Emmanuel Fernandez believes the squad is fully motivated to give their outgoing skipper a fitting farewell by lifting the title. Former Liverpool defender and Rangers advisor Stig Inge Bjornebye revealed that Salah’s situation has at least been discussed internally. While he stopped short of suggesting a deal is close, he admitted the winger’s future has been a topic of conversation following confirmation that he will leave Liverpool.
