New York Jets receiver Garrett Wilson is feeling far more comfortable in the offense as he embarks on year two with Aaron Rodgers.
New York Jets receiver Garrett Wilson only got a handful of plays with Aaron Rodgers last season after a full offseason of work. Now that Rodgers is healthy, Garrett is excited for what’s to come.
As the Jets begin training camp, this is the time when the chemistry is built, and to a certain extent, while Wilson is in year two with Rodgers, it will take time to build up what the pair had developed at training camp last year.
But for Garrett, just being in his second offseason with Rodgers brings what he calls natural comfort.
“With more reps comes better understanding,” Wilson said. “Understanding where to be and when to be there on the field. I feel like we all feel a natural comfort since it is a second year in the offense playing with a guy like Aaron. The familiarity will make us better. Once you understand it, you can play at a different speed.”
With Wilson already showing his talent in his first two seasons, surpassing 1,000 receiving yards in both with what could be called below par quarterback play, now with Rodgers back, it is only natural to assume that Garrett will have improved numbers.
Of course, we saw last season just how fickle the NFL can be and after all the hype and excitement, the Jets’ season essentially ended four plays in with Rodgers getting injured.
