Wisconsin basketball commit’s NZNBL statistics are eye-popping
The 2026 Wisconsin basketball recruiting class is very exciting, and a big reason for that is future Badgers point guard Jackson Ball. Ball currently plays for the NZNBL (which stands for the New Zealand National Basketball League) and is tearing it up with insane preseason numbers. Greg Gard and Wisconsin may have found a future college basketball star in Ball, one that seems to fit the new Wisconsin system seamlessly.
Jackson Ball’s preseason stats are amazing in the New Zealand National Basketball League
Did you see those stats in that social media post above? It’s crazy how impressive Ball has been through three preseason games. This is what he’s doing:
25.0 PPG
3.3 APG
4.6 RPG
56% FG
45% 3P
83% FT
The stats that jump out are not just his points per game but also his ability to shoot the ball. He’s making 56% of his field goal attempts and already shooting 83% from the line. You have to know that Gard loves that free-throw percentage.
It seems as if he will fit perfectly into what Greg Gard and the Wisconsin Badgers have evolved into this year with “the Johns” (Tonje and Blackwell). This will be another elite guard that can score from every level and do it efficiently.
It will be interesting to see how Ball does when the NZNBL regular season gets going. However, these preseason stats are still impressive. Even if the points dip during the season, the % numbers are crazy impressive. He will definitely be a player that Badger fans will need to keep an eye on throughout his New Zealand National Basketball League season.
He is currently in the 2026 recruiting class, so it will be another season, but we can see him in the Wisconsin red and white. The excitement for what he could be and what he already looks like is very intriguing for Badger fans.
