Ryan Day Shows Off Hidden Talent From Playing Days at Ohio State Spring Practice
The Ohio State Buckeyes began spring practice this week with the next generation of potential stars including quarterbacks Tavien St. Clair and Julian Sayin taking center stage on the practice field.
The Buckeyes will look to replace outgoing starter Will Howard this season after a historically great four-game run in the College Football Playoffs that had fans debating whether or not he can keep it up at the professional level.
Howard had arguably his best season under the tutelage of coach Ryan Day, himself a former college football player who is known for his expertise in the passing game.
On Wednesday, footage surfaced of day showing off his hidden talents on the football field for media to watch.
Video surfaced of the former New Hampshire Wildcats quarterback throwing tight back shoulder spirals to his players on the practice field as media filmed the footage.
Day showed great accuracy and a quarterback’s touch as players and others looked on.
Day set high school records at Manchester Central High School in New Hampshire, throwing for 4,099 career yards.
He led his team to a state championship and won a Gatorade High School Player of the Year Award.
Day had his best season with the Wildcats as a sophomore, during which he threw for over 2,700 yards along with 18 touchdown passes.
This season, Day has two former five-star prospects to work with in Sayin and St. Clair, a positive situation for a team in need of a new leader on offense.
