Recruiting expert’s prediction shows that Christmas may be coming early for Georgia and Kirby Smart in a big way
Georgia has just about all of their focus on Notre Dame, their opponent in the quarterfinal of the College Football Playoff. The Fighting Irish are going to be a tough out and it’ll take a big game from the Bulldogs and Gunner Stockton to get past them.
Off the field, the Bulldogs have to keep some focus on the transfer portal and recruiting there. Georgia has seen some players exit and will see their fair share of additions via the portal.
According to Pete Nakos of On3, USC transfer wide receiver Zachariah Branch is most likely to land at Georgia. Zachariah and his brother Zion are expected to be a package duo wherever they end up.
“The Branch brothers visited Georgia and Arizona State in recent days. Georgia’s connections are strong with the family. James Coley recruited them at Texas A&M, David Hill is from Las Vegas and has known them for a long time, and Donte Williams recruited Zion to USC. A decision could come before Christmas.” – Pete Nakos, On3
Zachariah made a big impact right away as a freshman last year at USC. He had a kickoff and punt return both for a touchdown. Additionally, Zachariah had 320 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 11 games. As a sophomore in 2024, Zachariah caught 47 passes for 503 yards and a touchdown. USC spread the ball out a ton and had five wideouts with at least 300 yards receiving
Arian Smith and Dominic Lovett are both seniors for the Bulldogs. The pathway for Branch to be the top wideout for the Bulldogs in 2025 is right there for the taking.
Zion is a player that Georgia recruited out of high school as well as a top 60 player in the country. Over the last two years, Zion has played in 21 games with 41 tackles, three pass breakups, and a sack.
Both players would be good additions for Georgia. The connections are there to make it happen. This very well could end up being an early Christmas gift for Georgia and they could commit before the 25th.
