Notre Dame football set to host enigmatic 2026 recruit on Friday, and more clarity is needed for where things stand

Notre Dame football has been going through a tough stretch with wide receiver recently. The whole process during the 20225 class was flawed from the jump, and the Irish staff have had several misses early on in 2026 as well. Mike Brown and the Notre Dame staff need some good news to get things back on track.

We are in the spring visit period, and luckily for the Irish, several talented 2026 pass catchers are making their way to campus. That includes Charlotte (N.C.) Myers Park standout Brody Keefe, who is in South Bend today. Keefe has been on the 2026 board for some time now but is a pretty enigmatic member. Notre Dame is listed as one of his top schools, but nobody can get a great gauge concerning where things stand.

That is why this visit is so important for both Keefe and Notre Dame. Many, including recruiting insiders and other media, will gain a much deeper understanding for where things stand following the visit. Is Notre Dame planning on making a stronger push for the enigmatic pass catcher? That is the major question.

As a junior, Keefe managed to haul in 32 receptions for 408 yards and five touchdowns for Myers. That comes off of a sophomore season where the North Carolina native added another 41 receptions for 599 yards and 12 scores. He is a teammate of priority Irish defensive end target Rodney Dunham.

The 6-3, 190-pound wide receiver is rated as a three-star recruit on every major recruiting platform. That includes on the 247Sports Composite ranking, where they have him pegged as the No. 497 overall player and the No. 78 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class. Keefe is also ranked as the No. 25 player in the state of North Carolina on that ranking.

Despite a pretty modest overall recruiting ranking, Keefe has been pursued by some of the top programs in all of college football. Some of his biggest offers include the Fighting Irish, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, South Carolina, Michigan State, UNC, NC State, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, Illinois, Duke, and Wake Forest among others.
