Notre Dame football could land surprise boost from ACC transfer standout

The Notre Dame football team is busy getting ready for the 2025 season with spring practice. It’s a safe bet the coaching staff thought the roster was just about set. However, it appears that there might be a defensive lineman falling into the staff’s lap.
Stanford’s head coach is officially out the door and some of the players are starting to exit along with him. One of those players, David Bailey entered the transfer portal earlier this week and it’s possible that the Fighting Irish could be in the mix.

Bailey is not going to be easy to get. Notre Dame isn’t getting him automatically. He’s in fact, thought to be planning a visit to UCLA soon. But it appears that the Irish might at least be in play.
The Notre Dame football team went pretty hard after Bailey when he was coming out of high school and obviously lost out to him when he pick the Cardinal instead. And while the team seems set at the defensive front, it could certainly use a new player at the quality of Bailey’s.
There’s an obvious reason why the Irish would want him. Bailey racked up 34 tackles, 7 sacks and five forced fumbles. He’s also someone who can either play on the line or at linebacker.
The Notre Dame football team might want to enter the fray for David Bailey. The next week or so could be very interesting and a very talented ACC player might have a new home in South Bend.
