BREAKING: Quinn Ewers Projected to Replace $230 Million Quarterback in Latest NFL Mock Draft
There are still many questions heading into the 2025 NFL Draft, including how valuable certain players are and where their best fit could be.
The quarterback position is especially interesting because the consensus top two are Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. After that, though, the rankings get a bit murky.
One player with a big question mark hovering is Texas Longhorn Quinn Ewers, whom Pro Football Focus has ranked as the No. 8 quarterback and No. 102 player available to select.
However, in a mock draft created by Chad Reuter of NFL.com, he predicts that Ewers will go to the Cleveland Browns with the No. 33 pick.
It’s an interesting selection because the Browns already have quarterback Deshaun Watson, who will be entering the fourth season of his five-year $230 million contract.
However, his ability to be the team’s Week 1 starter next season is in question after he ruptured his Achilles tendon in Week 7 of 2024 against the Cincinnati Bengals and then re-ruptured it on Jan. 10, requiring surgery to repair.
That means if the Browns did select Ewers early on, he could potentially be the team’s starter to open the regular season and even take over when Watson’s contract expires at the end of the 2026 season.
