Big Ten standings and results: Is there still a chance for Wisconsin to win it?

At the top of the leaderboard for the Big Ten, Michigan State was the only one to really make a strong case for the crown. Purdue lost twice, Michigan lost once (but only played once), and Wisconsin lost once. You could make a case that Maryland is back in the hunt with their strong play the last few weeks and two more wins this week. There are still a few games left for each of the teams fighting for the crown, but it will take a lot for Wisconsin and even Maryland to pull it off. Let’s dig into the results.

The Badgers are currently two games back of first place with four games to play. Therefore, there is still a chance, but it will take a winning out with some dominoes to fall. They do have one game left against the Michigan State Spartans. If MSU is still in first at that point and Wisconsin can pull off that game on the road, that would be a full game swing and get things tighter. They also need to hope that Michigan State drops one down the stretch and the Wolverines also drop a couple.

It’s not looking promising for the Badgers, but technically, there is still a path in front of them. Either way, the Big Ten tournament and even the NCAA tournament are in hand, and every win will help with seeding for both of those tournaments, so there’s still a ton to play for. Flush the Oregon loss and move on.
