Two former Virginia Tech standouts pegged as NFL Combine sleepers to watch

The 2025 NFL Combine is here and 329 college football players with big dreams of playing on Sundays are getting their shot to impress NFL scouts, coaches, and front-office personnel. This combine is going to be a busy one for six former Virginia Tech players and some have begun to impress last month at the Senior Bowl and East/West Shrine Game.
Two former Hokies were named sleepers to watch at the 2025 NFL Combine and both have a chance to move up the draft board and be selected earlier than they are projected.
PFF names two former Virginia Tech players as NFL Combine sleepers to watch
Running back Bhayshul Tuten and wide receiver Da’Quan Felton were named two of five combine sleepers to watch over the next week in Indianapolis by PFF. Tuten is someone who has already got some pre-combine hype with one writer listing him as someone who could be a darkhorse first-round pick with a solid showing at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Tuten is a small, but very effective running back as Hokies’ fans saw. He has the ability to break tackles and once he gets into the open field, he’s tough to catch and bring down with his despective speed.
Felton was an underrated wide receiver for Virginia Tech the last couple of seasons. You could even say that he wasn’t used enough by former offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen, as evident by never collecting more than 650 receiving yards in a season. Regardless, when he was called upon, he was good for the Hokies and was very good at picking up yards after a catch.
There will be meetings and activities on the field all week for the players, but with a good week, Tuten, Felton, and all the other former Hokies in Indy can improve their draft stock with the draft just two months away.
