David Pollack Reveals Heartbreaking Personal News
During his college football career, David Pollack was a standout player for the Georgia Bulldogs. He earned All-American honors and won the Chuck Bednarik Award, which is given annually to the top defensive player in college football.
Pollack recorded 14 sacks in a single season, making him second in Georgia’s history for most sacks in a season. He holds the program record for career sacks with 36. His impressive college career led to his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame and a selection by the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. However, Pollack’s NFL career was cut short after just two seasons due to a neck injury he sustained during his second season.
After leaving the NFL, Pollack transitioned to broadcasting, starting as an afternoon sports talk host in Atlanta in 2008. In the same year, he began working in a studio role for CBS’s college football coverage. The following year, in 2009, he joined ESPN as a college football analyst.
In the fall of 2011, Pollack joined ESPN’s “College GameDay,” where he remained until his departure in 2023. He currently stays connected to the sport by hosting a podcast on his YouTube channel titled “David Pollack College Football.”
On Monday, he took to social media to share some sad personal news rather than discussing football. He asked those who pray to say a quick prayer for his wife, Lindsey, who has been diagnosed with brain cancer and is scheduled to have surgery later this week.
“I do not share much of my personal life on social media but today is gonna be different,” Pollack posted on X. “If you are the praying type please lift up my wife Lindsey. She has brain cancer and surgery is Wednesday at Duke. So thankful to serve a loving God that meets us in our struggles!”
Pollack did not disclose the type of cancer his wife has or when she was diagnosed. However, many people commented on his post to support Pollack and his wife during this challenging time.
