Where Indiana Hoosiers MBB stand with Selection Sunday looming

The ESPN bracketologist released his latest projected tournament field following Saturday and Sunday’s slate of college basketball games.
With March Madness here we officially only have six days remaining until Selection Sunday kicks off ahead of the 2025 NCAA tournament.
Indiana Hoosiers men’s basketball has forced themselves in tournament discussion and back on the bubble discord as one of the last teams looking to get into the big dance.
The Hoosiers defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes 66-60 on Saturday afternoon in Bloomington and will try to solidify their case for a tournament bid against the Oregon Ducks on Thursday in the second round of the Big Ten tournament.
The Hoosiers would have been the 10-seed had they lost to Ohio State, but instead will now get an extra day of rest but now face quite the challenge in the Big Ten Tournament.
Joe Lundari of ESPN.com released an updated bracket on Sunday night, sticking Indiana at the No. 11 seed. The Hoosiers are the last team in Lunardi’s field to receive a bye. His projections have the Hoosiers playing Saint Mary’s in Providence (Rhode Island).
The four teams directly behind Indiana, per Lunardi: San Diego State, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Xavier.
The NCAA Selection Committee considers these criteria’s listed below as there most important pieces on selecting Non AQ bids.

- Torvik – 54 (Torvik gives IU a 52.8% chance to make the field)
- Wins Above Bubble (WAB) – 44
- KenPom – 44
- Basketball Power Index (BPI) – 52
- KPI – 32
- Strength of Record – 47
Indiana has never won the Big Ten Tournament since it started in 1998 but Mike Woodson has reached the semifinals twice in three years.
Oregon is riding a seven games winning streak and has made the NCAA tournament four out of five years inclduing a few sweet sixteen appearances. Oregon comes into the ball game ranked No. 23 according to the latest AP Poll.
