Alabama and Kalen DeBoer lose yet another player to the 2025 NFL Draft amid College Football Playoff action

The Alabama Crimson Tide keep losing players to both the Transfer Portal and the 2025 NFL Draft. Unless something changes for Kalen DeBoer and his crew Alabama’s roster is going to look completely different next year.

Yes, LT Overton is returning instead of heading to the NFL Draft. And landing star wide receiver Isaiah Horton out of the portal was a big win. However, at this point, the roster losses are really starting to pile up.

While the College Football Playoff action and bowl games were rolling on Thursday Alabama’s star offensive guard Tyler Booker announced that he was declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. Booker logged over 2000 snaps for Alabama in the last three seasons, personally surrendering just two sacks in that entire span.

Tyler Booker joined Alabama as a highly touted Top 60 overall recruit in the nation back in 2022 and lived up to every bit of the hype. Despite quarterback Jalen Milroe’s struggles against pressure, running into sacks a bit too often, Booker posted incredible numbers while at Alabama.

According to Pro Football Focus he posted 99% pass block efficiency this past year, easily playing like one of the best pass blocking interior offensive line stars in the nation. He did commit a few penalties here and there, but outside of that Booker was nearly flawless in pass protection this season.

The latest NFL Draft Projections have Booker looking like a potential first round pick, possibly landing between pick 13 and 47 overall next spring. Given his reported draft prospects it’s not completely surprising at all that he chose to declare. Hopefully Kalen DeBoer and company can find a way to replace talented stars like Booker for Alabama here soon.
