Indiana Men’s Basketball Misses Out On Two Transfer Targets

Iowa transfer guard Josh Dix has committed Creighton over Indiana.
Dix transferred to Creighton in a social media post Friday morning. Dix has one season of college eligibility remaining.
The Iowa transfer and shooting guard Josh Dix entered the portal after Fran McCaffery was fired last month, as Iowa failed to make the NCAA tournament.
In 2024-25, Josh Dix was one of the most accurate 3-pointer shooters in the Big Ten. He averaged 14.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists last season. The Council Bluffs, Iowa native also connected on a career-high 2.0 threes per game.
In his 97 game career at Iowa, Dix averaged 8.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists in 22.1 minutes per game.
Former Xavier guard Ryan Conwell commits to Louisville over Indiana
According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, Louisville has landed Ryan Conwell out of the NCAA transfer portal. Conwell previously played for the Xavier Musketeers and decided to leave the program after Sean Miller accepted the Texas Longhorns job.
According to Jeff Rabjohns of 247 Sports Conwell and Dix reportedly took visits to Indiana this week but ultimately decided on Creighton and Louisville.
Conwell averaged 16.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 33 minutes per game. He shot 45 percent from the field and shot 41.3 percent from three point range in 2024-25.
Conwell started his career at South Florida, and then went to Indiana State and Xavier. The Indiana native was ranked the 14th best player in the portal by On3 Sports portal.
Indiana and Darian DeVries will have some major work to do in the transfer portal, missing out on these two is a big loss for the Hoosiers program going forward.
