Projected $3 Million Star Quarterback Sends Clear Message on Georgia Football

The Georgia Bulldogs face plenty of challenges at quarterback, both for 2025 and the future. Georgia will eventually name the program’s new QB1, but head coach Kirby Smart also has his eyes on the top quarterback in the 2026 college football recruiting class.

For now, Ryan Puglisi and Ryan Montgomery will look to gain ground on Gunner Stockton in the coming months. Stockton is widely projected to be the favorite after appearing in both the SEC championship and Sugar Bowl following Carson Beck’s injury.

Over the weekend, Georgia received some good news about potentially landing a new five-star quarterback for the 2026 recruiting cycle.

Nashville Christian’s Jared Curtis has named Georgia and the Oregon Ducks as the final two college football programs he is considering. Curtis is the No. 1 ranked quarterback in the 2026 class by both On3 and ESPN.

The five-star quarterback decomitted from the Dawgs last Oct. but is still considering Georgia. Curtis revealed what is appealing about the Bulldogs.

“Georgia speaks for itself,” Curtis told On3’s Steve Wiltfong on Saturday. “I’ve built a relationship with Coach Bobo and Coach Smart.

“My relationship with the coaches. Coach Bobo and Coach Gummy [Georgia quarterback coach Montgomery VanGorder] most importantly. I think they’re a powerhouse and they have great coaches all around. They have the players up there and they’re very disciplined.”

Georgia and Oregon should be prepared to offer Curtis a premium NIL deal. On3 projects Curtis’ NIL value is $3 million.
