Havon Finney Jr. Reclassifies to 2026, LSU in the Race for Elite Cornerback
Starting on Monday, the College Football Recruiting Dead Period will expire and it’ll become a frenzy on the recruiting trail once again as schools all over the Country look to bolster their recruiting class and look to boost their chances before official visits in the summer. Heading into this next portion of the recruiting cycle, LSU holds the Nation’s 3rd ranked recruiting class and the Top Recruiting class in the SEC.
During the recruiting dead period LSU received a ton of good news landing the commitment of In-State Tackle Brysten Martinez which rocketed LSU up the rankings. LSU also got named among the finalists for several top recruits and will look to build momentum before this summer.
On Saturday, one of the best cornerback recruits regardless of class Havon Finney Jr reclassified into the 2026 recruiting class and tabbed LSU as one of the programs standing out to him.

Prior to jumping into the 2026 recruiting class, Havon Finney was a Top 5 player in the 2027 recruiting class. After reclassifying, Havon Finney Jr is On3’s 89th ranked player, the 10th ranked cornerback, and the 10th ranked player out of California which is impressive with the fact that he’s a year younger than nearly everyone else in the class.
Recruiting a player on accelerated timeline is never easy and the Tigers will be doing so in the recruitment of Boobie Feaster as well. The good thing for LSU is that the Tigers have been recruiting Finney for close to a year and have gotten him on campus for a Spring visit and a game visit.
Corey Raymond has put himself in a great position for Finney and his track record speaks for itself as a recruiter and a developer. The most important thing will be getting Finney on campus again for unofficial and official visits this Spring and Summer which will put LSU in the short group of teams in Finney’s recruitment.
